Happy to say that I actually got around to painting a dwarf! Not just one either! I was asked to paint a dwarf and a night goblin as a sample of my commission work for a new customer and as I had my own copy of this dwarf I painted mine alongside using the same colour scheme.

The other sample requested was the old Night Goblin subscription special. I've already painted my own version last year as part of an army project but it was good to revisit this great sculpt.

Prince Ulther's Imperial Dwarfs: The dragon Company.

This was a box set released as a Regiment of Reknown back in the late 80's along with Bugman's Rangers. It had a full command group and four different types of troopers. Later on they released the one at the front firing a pistol and covering his face and the dead drunk dwarf. They just happened to be wearing the same uniform, similar helmets and carrying pistols. I had a lot of fun painting this lot and I hope you like them.

A bit of time of this weekend resulted in these two from White Knight

I struggled for while trying to get a nice shading to the yellow skirt and ended up adding purple to the mix seeing as it's a complimentary colour and luckily it turned out great.

Another area I enjoyed was Kristin's leather tunic, playing around with various washes.

Dwarf Zweihanders from White Knight are done. They dragged out a bit longer than I would have liked but at least the unit is complete and I can move on to something else now. 

I used a halfling, again from White Knight for the musician as I didn't really like the bagpipes dwarf from the Zweihanders command set, I think he still fits in though.

I was looking over another blog and saw an old Marauder advert for their ogres and just had to include this one in the unit. The barrel is from my good friend Alebelly Cragfist. In his frustration of not being able to find decent barrels he commissioned this one and got them cast.

And the completed unit. A front rank of seven is quickly becoming a favourite of mine. I used to stick religiously to five so that I'd get four ranks and a nice round number. Must be an age thing..
