A bit of time of this weekend resulted in these two from White Knight
The daughters of Graf Weisz von Schnee. Katarin & Kristin.
Katarin
Kristin
I struggled for while trying to get a nice shading to the yellow skirt and ended up adding purple to the mix seeing as it's a complimentary colour and luckily it turned out great.
Another area I enjoyed was Kristin's leather tunic, playing around with various washes.

Dwarf Zweihanders from White Knight are done. They dragged out a bit longer than I would have liked but at least the unit is complete and I can move on to something else now.
I used a halfling, again from White Knight for the musician as I didn't really like the bagpipes dwarf from the Zweihanders command set, I think he still fits in though.
I was looking over another blog and saw an old Marauder advert for their ogres and just had to include this one in the unit. The barrel is from my good friend Alebelly Cragfist. In his frustration of not being able to find decent barrels he commissioned this one and got them cast.
And the completed unit. A front rank of seven is quickly becoming a favourite of mine. I used to stick religiously to five so that I'd get four ranks and a nice round number. Must be an age thing..

I've been on a slight detour recently ever since the local GW store convinced me to enter their Armies on Parade. That was 2 weeks ago and the deadline was today. There were quite a few late nights this week but I managed to get most of what I wanted done.
3 fanatics didn't make it, nor a second unit of archers but I think I've entered enough units to call it an army.
So just before I took them down to the store I had 10 minutes to take some pictures...
When I get them back after the week of voting I'll try to get an army shot done.

More Zweihanders, finished today. I'm slightly disappointed with the photos as they have washed out the highlights.
I'm sure I read somewhere that it's better to take photos at night so I'll try it and see if there is any difference.

What have I been working on lately?
Happy to say the first rank of the Dwarf Zweihanders are done...
My apologies for nearly all of them being the same, but it's easier for batch painting.
You can get some from White Knight here
For those of you in the UK ( Saying that, I've already had enquiries from Italy!) I've started offering painting lessons, here's a link to my site. http://www.dbpaintworkshop.co.uk/

Hi all,
I've decided to take the plunge and go into the wargames miniatures painting tuition game. I figure it will be more enjoyable than faceless commission jobs. Finger's crossed eh.

Unreleased Dwarf General on a pony.
Here's my take on the unreleased General by Marauder Miniatures. I was asked by a friend of mine to paint one for him and thought it would be the perfect opportunity to paint mine too. My version is one the right in my usual blue and cream colours whilst the Bill's is in green and bone with a bit of gold decoration.
I hope you like them.

Marauder Clansmen are finally finished.
This is the standard bearer from the Marauder MB1 Dwarf Regiment (pikes). I ended up going a bit brighter on the blue than I wanted but am happy with it none the less.
I had to show you this pic as the face is a classic marauder face, such character.

Hi,
I managed to finish yet another 5 Marauder Clansmen today. I seem to be hitting an average of about 10 dwarfs a month, at this rate it will take another 4 years to paint the rest of the pile!
I seriously need to up my game.
There's only the standard bearer to go to finish thin unit, hopefully it won't take a week!
Thanks for looking,

Hi,
I finally managed to finish another 5 Marauder Clansmen today, they took a long time. Well they spent a long time staring at me on the paint table anyway, my fault.
So, the Clansmen unit is really starting to come together now, I've picked out the next 5 including the standard bearer from the MB1 pike regiment and a wizard which will only leave a couple to do, phew!
