Ironbreakers are done....apart from the shields. For those of you not familiar with my thread at Bugman's Brewery, shields are the bane of my life. I always seem to struggle with finding shields.

I do have the original Ironbreaker shields for this unit but just cannot decide on a colour scheme to fit in with the rest of the army. They are currently drowning in Dettol just in case I can't find an alternative.

 

Maybe a blue background with a bronze axe? I've tried other shields but there is so little to choose from these days, I dislike the current plastic shields, the previous edition plastic shields with the choice of three icons are too small in my opinion. I've exhausted the Hasslefree range (the good ones anyway).

If anyone has any good ideas or knows of anyone producing nice shields please post a link, please!

I've also finished 10 armoured knights from White Knight Miniature Imperium

I'll be entering them in a Unit Painting Challenge at the Brewery, closing date is 15th Jan.
Really enjoyed painting these, I hope you like them.

This could be my last post of the year and thought I'd share a wee project I did in the run up to Christmas as it was a present for the missus, Kathryn. She loves Dr Who!
I am not entirely sure how popular Doctor Who is outside of the UK but here goes anyway, hope you like it.
 
Unfortunately the 'Police Box' transfers didn't turn up in time but when they do I'll post another pic.

Meanwhile on the Dwarf front I have just finished some Ironbreakers...

As with the armoured knights I've enjoyed playing about with washes and glazes on the armour to try and liven things up a bit.

Starting to make some real progress with the Miners. This lot are almost done...

 

 

Call me lazy but I cut off the candle flames as I wasn't happy with the result. I may add some wicks later on. I figured they'd probably get blown out on a battlefield anyway!

 

Up next will be the command squad and the miner from the 'drunk dwarfs' set. I still need to think about the actual standard too.

I'm making some progress on the miners, shouldn't be much longer lol.
I think the mistake I made with these is trying to batch paint 20 of them, I definitely won't be doing that again.

I did try painting the flames of the candles but just wasn't happy with them so..I chopped them off!
I figured they would be alight all the time so why not.

 

I've also started some armoured knights by White Knight. Can't recommend these sculpts highly enough. Very pleased with them so far.

It's been a long time coming but I've managed to start updating the Marauder section with the MM10s, MM11 Command, MM15 Command and most of the MM16 range too. I took quite a few pictures today including the Citadel Norse and the ME ( Middle Earth) 33 Dwarfs.

 

Hopefully tomorrow I can add on the Norse section. Even the though a lot are yet to be painted I still think I'm making some progress.
