About Me

My photo
Darkblade
I've been collecting and painting since 1989 or there abouts. I read the Hobbit one summer and decided to try and find some minis. The first ones I bought was the first version of the Fellowship. I then progressed onto Orcs & Goblins, then Dwarfs, then about every other army over the next 10 to 12 years. My collection at that point was huge and was also getting on the wife's nerves. After that I dabbled with a Space Marine army for my son, then Imperial Guard but never really fell in love with them like fantasy. Then came the Lord of the Rings stuff, more collecting. It was at that time I made a fatal mistake and started looking for stuff on ebay and realised I could sell some stuff and make some money. I still regret selling off my first collection of Dwarfs, and my Orc & Goblins etc.. The only armies I kept were Dark Elves and the LOTR. About 5 years ago I saw a great Dark Elf lord by Avatars of War and started collecting them, lovely sculpts. After painting their Berserker/Slayer I was hooked on Dwarfs and began collecting them all over again. The best part about the story is that the paint jobs are a lot nicer than the old collection and that I have a lot more this time!
